- Being forced into conversation
Strengths (3+):
- A very strong healer
- Very well-versed in animals and their care
- Very well-versed in astrological knowledge, both scientific (Muggle-wise) and Magical.
-Extremely good at Divination.
Weaknesses (3+):
- As much as she follows the potions directions, she never seems to do well..
- As more of a healer than a fighter, DADA usually is the most difficult, trying, tiring and painful experience for her.
- She's easily frightened and a rather timid girl, and is quicker to hide and analyze her escape routes than anything else.
Physical Description: A willowy and long-legged sort of girl, she's b no-means a model, though she can be 'cute'. Her hair is naturally a pin-straight curtain of black (very black, so black that it's near blue) and reaches to just below her shoulders. Her skin is a lovely shade of chestnut, an almost red when she 'tans' and paling into a pale 'yellow' or 'gold' during the winter months. Her eyes are a deep, honey brown and probably her most distinguishing feature, as they could also be considered 'gold' or 'owlish' in color. Second only to her eyes is the warm expanse of darker freckles over her cheekbones (and shoulders but like hell she'll show that off). She can sometimes be found bleaching her hair to strawberry or platinum blonde or white, or dying it various shades of violet and blue and green. (though the green is usually an after-effect of the blue fading...) She wears thin, black-rimmed square glasses, and they often get broken so she tends to only use them for reading.
Personality Outline:
A quiet, gentle and bookish girl, she much prefers to stay on the sidelines and care for people, rather than being right out in the fray. She is analytical and usually very blunt in her decisions and very forthright and forthcoming, which sometimes gives the impression that she's arrogant or standoffish. This is not the case however, and instead, she's a person who is very deeply in-tuned with herself and the world around her--perhaps more-so than other people, and more than she'd care to admit herself. She enjoys the studies of things that some others may find silly or frivolous, such as Divination and Astrology, though she finds her utter solace around animals of all sorts. She seems meek and mousey, but in reality, with her mind, a strategic battle of wills will usually crumble beneath her. She' not much into fashion, though, and wears only one pair of earrings-- two small crystals of unknown origin, which she claims assists her in her studies.
Oh, and she's weird and tends to put hats and outfits on her poor cat, Faust. Poor, poor Faust. At least he's mildly-tempered for a Siamese....
Background
Mother:
Otome Tacohashi, age 43, Muggle. Zoologist. Very...uh..excitable little woman. ( HERE, LET ME SHOW YOU MY MEERKATS!)
Father:
Dayton Bosworth, age 45, wizard. Statistical Analyst. Calm, cool, collected, but easily amused (and yes, he will always and forever look at Otome's meerkats.)
Siblings:
None
Country of Origin:
Somerset in Southern England. Rather bordering Bristol.
Heritage:
Half-blood.
History:
Her father left his hometown in Arizona, USA to move to Bristol, England, for work. While there, he met Otome, who was actually born in Ibaraki, Japan, and moved to Bristol only two years earlier in an attempt to travel the world. Instead, she ended up settling with Dayton, and they purchased a small home in the idyllic village of Dundry. There, they lived for a few years before Dayton explained his wizarding roots to Otome, who, surprisingly, was more enthralled and enthusiastic about it than skeptical or frightened. She embraced it all, and they managed to find a fun (albeit strange) balance between her worldly religion and his world of magic.
AND THEN. A CHILD WAS BORN. A healthy girl, Aurele was named after an Auror that was Dayton's childhood friend. She grew up in quite the loving, if not odd, household. She was often surrounded by tomes upon tomes of books and pictures and paperwork on animals, and found great joys in going to work with her mother. She became inherently interested in the millions upon millions of numbers and work her father looked at, and often pretended to be a 'Aminul Counter'. (You know, to statistically keep track of all of the animals in the entire damn village). Her mother and father allowed her to purchase her very own pet to show her how to take care of animals, and her first pet was a mall, green parakeet. Shortly after that, she obtained a canary, a parrotlet, two small bulldogs, 14 fish or various species, a whippet, a greyhound, three tabby cats, one tuxedo cat and last but not least, for her 12th birthday, she received Faust, the Siamese. That was also when she received her first letter for Hogwarts. Both parents were understandable thrilled and chilled and all other sorts of -illed and wasted no expense in fitting her with robes and books and bags care-packages and money and all sorts of worldly experience they tried to pass on to her. Her father was an American, so he was quite surprised to hear that she had been sorted into Ravenclaw, being the first to do so--and oh so proud they were, to hear of Ravenclaws' status!
With all the love and care they could muster, they sent her off to school!
In her first year, she managed to make a very tight-knit group of friends, two from Slytherin who were quite the tricksy ones, 3 from Hufflepuff, who were underrated but quite brilliant at everything they tried and always managed to find a playful balance between the little clique, as the three of them were siblings (first year, and two third years), two from her own house (one who excelled in all the places that she did not, and one who always felt like he belonged only with them, though he wasn't certain what it was he spearheaded) and one from Gryffindor, who was stubborn and hard headed, but always one to be on time, on point, and a rather good shoulder to lean on. This group continues to be some of her closest friends to this day, as even though they often don't see each other, they keep up a continued correspondence.
Her first year was difficult, and her friends truly helped her find her place and fit in, even the Slytherin friends who were very....well, mean about her being a half-blood for quite a while, before they lightened up n her and found her far more fun to play -with- than to play -at-. She struggled with the first series of tests, and her second year was wrought with deep and bitter sadness when a friend from her first yea (one of thee Hufflepuffs) was killed during winter vacation. She witnessed the accident, and though it was just that--an accident that nobody could have prevented-- she blamed herself through much of her second year, though her second and third year went by better and better than the last, with extremely high hopes for this year, and hopes that she can personally study under the teacher for Care of Magical Creatures.
Thestrals interested her to an extremely high degree, perhaps because of the hair in her wand, but she found them to be a creature she could grow attached to.
As it stands, coming into her fourth year, she has much to study, and many more things that have come to interest her on the subject of death, the future, the past and the present, which has, in turn, boosted her willingness to study and learn divination, more so than in her first three years of residence.
