Character Description:
The most outstanding aspect of this fellow would probably be the puff of black curls topping his head, occasionally tucking into a cap or cloak, depending on the weather. A caramel complexion and dark brown eyes make up the rest of his features, topped with the sparse moustache of a teenager and somewhat rumpled Hufflepuff robes. If he isn’t carrying a saxophone, you can probably pick him up on conversation, but expect it be largely one-sided for this talker, only calmed in the presence of a fat grey cat called Del. Friendly In extreme, but hard on his beliefs, it’ll be difficult to sway the conviction of this ultimately faithful and earnest student.
Personality Outline:
Daniel is an easy-going, charming sort of fellow. Or so he likes to tell himself. With little effort, he can find himself comfortable in a crowd of strangers, playing up the ‘cool musician’ act. The is tempered by the awkward aspect of being a teenager, and his own often inept trials in magic. Despite what he lacks, his charismatic and ‘bossy’ personality will lead him on into troubles and struggles fitting for a boy his age, tempered by the rules of the school. Overall, he dreams of escape into the muggle world and the fame he assumes will come so easily. Prone to detention for a myriad of misbehavior, Daniel can be found serving petty punishments when he isn’t busy plucking away at a tune or gulping down butter beer on trips to Hogsmeade, alongside his closest friend, Rodney Trotter.

Daniel learned from a young age to keep an interest in music. His father had been part of band in his young, strongly influencing his youngest son’s desires to learn and appreciate music, particularly the great rock bands of the 70s. His time spent in muggle school introduced him to jazz and the blues, where he began learning the saxophone, which became a big part of his life. Acceptance into Hogwarts was unsurprising, though he broke a long tradition at Ravenclaw when he fell into Hufflepuff. Although he dreams of his future as a hit musician, his family is somewhat less reluctant to accept this outcome, pressing him to become more invested in his current education, and the benefits of a focus on magic. All the same, he’s remained interested in muggle music and instruments, unwaveringly.
