Likes (3+)
- Her Job - If it were up to her, she would live at the office, working non-stop, save for the brief moments of rest and refueling.
- Continuous Education - So long as the subjects aren't completely bonkers or absolute rubbish.
- Firewhiskey~!
Dislikes (3+):
- Useless knowledge; there is no reason she could think of as to why she was ever need to map out constellations.
- Bullies - Anyone who abuses their strengths for the harm of others, physical, emotional or mental.
- Her own occassional lack of emotion - though it is often considered a strength, there are many moments where she wished she could express herself more thoroughly, and make emotional connections with those in need.
Strengths (3+):
- Not easily swayed - No matter of bribing or coercion could cause Freya to sway from her duty as an Auror
- Swiftness - Extremely light on her feet, almost unnaturally so. A fast reactor, she is usually many seconds ahead in responding that those around her.
- Judgement - Though stubborn, her sense of justice and morality usually seems to be on track, and in order with the general consensous.
Weaknesses (3+):
- Family - Despite her strong sense of duty, she is extremely protective over that which she was raised with, almost to the point of reckless decision making.
- Stubbornness - Very set in her ways, especially when she firmly believes herself to be right. It is very hard for to accept, and even harder to admit when she is actually wrong.
- On occassion, teamwork - she finds her strength in working alone, and though she accepts that working as a team and under direction comes with the job, she would usually prefer to handle things solo.
Character Description: Freya was a bold character to say the least. Everything about her appearance was dark; from stern eyes to coiled hair - even her robes, though practical and unrestraining, was colored to adhere to the stealth her job often required. Most often seen portraying a firm attitude, the auror carried herself well, no doubt projecting that of a woman of confidence. And confident she was; a strong sense of morality often guided her decisions, second only on occassion to that of her office's head. She stood only for what she believed was right, and what she believed to be the right of others.
Personality Outline: Freya generally has a pretty even temperment. Though she is serious and focused while on the job, the woman enjoys a good laugh every now and then. Because of this, she has been titled bi-polar and/or stuck-up, neither of which are true. Truth of the matter is, she simply has a good sense of when humor and fun are appropriate, and when they are not. Along with this, the Auror has a strong sense of morality, a trait that probably helped guide her to the career path she was currently on. She was firm when it came to the mistreatment of others, whether it was petty bullying or darker issues, and rose quick to defend others. Something perhaps one would find odd, considering her house placement in her alumni school.
Background
Mother: Maureen Palmer, 60, Muggle Relations
Father: Tomas Palmer, 59, Magial Law Enforcement Patrol
Siblings:
- Davin Palmer, 33, Mediwizard
Country of Origin: Ireland
Heritage: Half-blood
History:
It was a wonder how some with such a bright personality like Maureen could find herself smitten with a man lacking any personality what so ever. But such was the case with Tomas and herself - and she began her attempts to court him way back in school. It wasn't until they had both graduated and begun their careers, did Tomas finally accept her proposal. And it wasn't until years later that he was on board with the idea of having children.
Davin came first, every bit like his father in looks and personality... Or lack there of. Then came the second child, who would come to be as though she was made of an exact half of each of her parents. With an even personality, both friendly and firm, she held a maturity that often surpassed her age.
Freya came from an extended family of wizards, so it was no surprise when her owl arrived, announcing her acceptance into Hogwarts. For the first several years, Freya showed no particular interest in any specific classes, achieving mediocre marks in nearly everything, save for classes she deemed useless (eg: Care of Magical Creatures, Astronomy - don't even mention Divination). Her focus chang, however, after her first career-guidance meeting with her head of house. Only a few options presented seemed exciting and challenging enough, among them... Auror.
From then on, her entire being went into achieving the highest marks in nearly every subject.. that mattered, of course. She'd haggle and suck up when needed, everything to gain the required "Exceed Expectations".
Upon graduating Hogwarts with more than the needed marks, Freya moved almost immediately into her Auror training - breezing though the pre-acceptance aptitude tests. After three rigorous years of training, the woman finally achieved the title of Auror, finding pleasure in all the dangers that the job came with. While her knowledge and skill was the majority of her success, there was a fair amount creditted to luck - an important trait for someone who was always at risk.
