The common room is a circular room where Gryffindor students can relax after a long day of studying. It is full of squashy armchairs, tables, and a bulletin board where school notices, ads, lost posters, etc. can be posted. A window looks out onto the grounds of the school, and a large fireplace dominates one wall. The walls are decorated with scarlet tapestries that depict witches and wizards, but also various animals.

Well-behind on his homework for the week, and well-aware that Monday was growing ever closer, Blaine Underwood had retreated to the sanctity of the common room. Almost immediately, he made a beeline for one of the choice armchairs near the fire. Bag and books were thrown haphazardly nearby as the seventh year all but flung himself onto the chair, sitting sideways so that his legs hung off of the armrest Naturally, after ten minutes of attempting to start on his Transfiguration assignment, Blaine would quickly become distracted. Bo-ring!
Stretching and letting out an exaggerated sort of yawn, the Gryffindor glanced around the common room, desperate for something - anything - to do that wasn't his homework assignment. Bloody... Room full of people and nothin' to do. Almost as if a signal had gone off, the seventh year's eyes widened, a slow grin widening on his face. The comic book! He'd nearly forgotten all about it. Swinging his legs around so that he would sit upright, Blaine rummaged through his bag for a few moments before procuring.. Ta-da! He smiled in satisfaction as he gave the cover a once-over. How someone could have been so careless as to just leave it all by itself in the middle of the courtyard, the Gryffindor would never know. Of course, there had been a group of second years nearby, but it wasn't as if they were so attached to it that they'd miss it. Or so he'd convinced himself in the interim.
