He gestures at you with a boisterous wave and approaches you, greeting you with a vigorous handshake. He smiles, but his deep grey eyes don't totally reflect his outgoing personality.

Jon Godfried is an obnoxiously outgoing human being. He's peppy, enthusiastic, and passionate about nearly everything. He's talkative and boisterous, and his good temper often has a contagious effect on those around him. However when alone, or when he thinks no one is looking, he is far quieter and introspective, brooding on something he doesn't deem appropriate to share with anyone in his company, but as soon as he notices someone, he's back to his usual self.

Jon was born to a mildly wealthy family in an affluent village outside London. He lead an unremarkable childhood and at age 11, attended Hogwarts, being sorted into Ravenclaw for his exceptional brightness. Over the course of a fairly unremarkable Hogwarts career, he discovered a passion for Magical History. Always a favorite of Professor Binns, he excelled most in that class, and all history related elective courses.
After Graduation, Jon went on the traditional trot across the globe, visiting important sites in magical history. After a three year tour of the world, including long stays in Greece, France, South Africa, and Japan, Jon was able to get a job with the Magical History and Discovery branch of the Smithsonian Institute in America, where he spent most of his career. After a tenure of 20 years with the institute, curating the museum, managing the archives, and doing important research in magical history, Jon Godfried retired and returned to his home in Ascot, where he had not been since the death of his parents.
Settling down in his old hometown, Jon took to writing, a shared passion between him and his father, and penned a number of historical fiction novels that sold well and gave him a decent nest egg. However as months and years past he soon grew restless and sought something more exciting than sitting at home and writing day in and day out, and on a whim applied to Hogwarts, where he spent many happy years, and hopes to return to impart his vast historical knowledge.
