Physical Description:
Donovan's features are noble, with high cheek bones and a slightly 'delicate' form for his face with equal masculine hints in his jaw and chin. He has a straight nose and a mouth that naturally sets into a small frown, giving him a thoughtful, distant appearance when he is neutral or at rest. His hair - dark brown - is always kept trimmed - below his cheek bones in the front and short in the back- and always combed neatly without a hair out of place. He has fair skin and slightly rounded, almond shaped eyes that are almost black. He is tall for his age, with a thin, lean build.
Personality Outline:
Donovan, on the surface, comes off as a polite and distant person. He is soft-spoken and avoids saying more than is necessary. The 'surface' generally is all that is known, leaving Donovan himself something of an impersonal, dull individual or other times a snob due to his want of keeping to himself. For anyone that spends more time near him by situation (classes, house, ect.) may find that he is a rather odd person with strange, obsessive habits and awkward socially. Despite all of this, he does seem to have a kind heart.
Background
Mother:
Elia, 40, Mortician
Father:
Murchadh, 48, Unemployed - "Survivalist", Conspiracy theorist
Siblings:
(Sister) Binn, 25, Unknown - presumed dead
Country of Origin: Ireland
Heritage: Muggle born
History:
With a mother as a mortician and a father with bizarre habits and obsessions with survival, Donovan's life was already promised to be unusual. Throw in an incident with an elder sister and strange happenings around their secluded country home and that life suddenly becomes a source of anxiety and rife with peculiarities; all of this before he received his letter.
Donovan's early childhood and summer 'vacations' from school were spent on 'camping trips' in a variety of places and conditions where his father insisted he learned to survive with minimal means. The reasons were never fully explained, though he discovered them through snooping. Most of it had to do with the day his sister disappeared. When he was not in the grasp of his whimsical, and possibly insane father, he was in the morbid environment of his mother's work.
To his surprise, his parents did not appear to be shocked to discover that there was a wizarding world and that a child of their flesh and blood was some kind of magic caster. Quite the contrary. Both quietly accepted their son's letter and quieter still, helped him immerse himself into this world he supposedly belonged...
