To prevent auto-hits and power-play, TWSOH utilizes a "dice roll system" where dictated, such as spell-casting in classes or situations where one character is dueling another.
The in-game command for rolling is as follows:
Once dice is rolled in-game, the chat box will display the result of the roll, as well as the "success" of what your character was attempting to do:
The outcome of the roll will allow a poster to post accordingly. For example, if a roll hits an "average success" while Jake Smith is trying to cast Wingardium Leviosa for the first time, Jake Smith's player may post that the feather only lifted an inch off of the table as opposed to lifting in the air.
If Jake Smith's player were to hit a roll that "fails miserably", the spell could either not work or go completely awry!
Dice rolls can be used in many situations where the outcome may be up in the air, such as a character's first broom ride, an attempt at a potion, or even showing up to class on time.
