Character Description: Who could resist those dimples? Set in the lightly freckled cheeks they would appear with each hint of a smile. Her chestnut brown hair hung down around in straight strands that moved with her. A spring in each step it wasn't uncommon to see her stumble at any random moment, only to recover and flounce away unaffected.
Personality Outline: Deirdre Finnin is a sweetie of sweeties. Her heart is generally that of gold, and she has a naturally warm aura. Just about everyone is given the benefit of the doubt until they ruin that opportunity, and she is overall cheery and flamboyant. Beneath the surface Deirdre is fiercely loyal, and fiercely devoted to her ambitions and beliefs. Alert and strong she takes pride in her origins and her accomplishments.
Background
Mother: Sarah Finnin, 52, Innkeeper
Father: Riley Finnin, 55, Veterinarian
Siblings: N/A
Country of Origin: Ireland
Heritage: Muggle-born
History: Dierdre was born, an only child, to Riley and Sarah Finnin in a small seaside town in Ireland. As a child she expressed a uniquely inquisitive and bright personality. She enjoyed the idea of learning and sought out information when others would run from it. Mathematics were not her best subject but she scraped by, where as she excelled in things such as English and art. Upon her eleventh birthday she received, quite surprisingly, a letter from a strange place claiming to be a school of magic. Naturally her muggle parents assumed it was some sort of a practical joke. Upon prodding from an imaginative eleven year old daughter, however, they did some exploring on a family trip to England where they discovered that the existence of Diagon Alley was real.
Upon arrival at Hogwarts, Deirdre was sorted into Hufflepuff. While she wasn't an exemplary noted student, she excelled in most classes and was a Gryffindor chaser of fairly impressive standards. Arithmancy and Astronomy were two classes in which she did not excel. In fact after taking both, initially out of eager curiosity, she was quick to drop both classes when it became clear that they were not in her area of expertise, nor was she going to improve much in either field. Her most impressive feat at Hogwarts, in the academic field, was her aptitude for Herbology. She was at the top of her class in this field and it was her favorite subject, undeniably, for her seven year stretch at the school. She was a prefect and took N.E.W.T. level classes in Herbology, Transfiguration, Charms and Potions.
Upon her completion of Hogwarts schooling she spent a few years in extra schooling and traveling with a group cataloguing plants with magical qualities for an updated Ministry plant catalogue. When this ended she spent some time helping her parents around the family Inn. During this process she applied for many different positions relating to the field of Herbology, including Ministry jobs and the position for Herbology Professor at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.

Deirdre Finnin swept into the greenhouse in her usual cheery manner, failing to acknowledge the moment as she tripped over a misplaced bookbag before promptly recovering and moving to her station. "Good morning class!" She announced cheerfully to draw the attention of her students. "Today we will first be covering the Bubotuber plant!" Upon said announcement she would present the aforementioned plant to the students. Sticking from the ground appeared to be a large, shiny black slug which squirmed and wriggled lightly on its own. It was also covered in prominent protrusions. "Now, who can tell me what these protrusions contain? Please note the shiny quality to the outside of the plant, and the small movement capacity."
She would wait a few moments for any potential answers. Upon a correct one she would nod and confirm; or upon lack of a correct answer, she would explain for the class.
"Each protrusion contains a thick, odorous pus. It is typically yellow-green in color and, undiluted, causes painful boils and blisters upon contact with the skin. Which is why I must ask that you all remember to put on your gloves before we get around to harvesting the pus! Can anyone tell me the use of diluted Bubotuber pus?"
Once again she would wait, and either confirm or inform. "Diluted Bubotuber pus is used to treat severe cases of acne, with highly satisfactory results." In a somewhat dramatic manner she would pull on her own gloves, a way of indicating that her students should do the same. Questions would be answered now before she showed them the proper way to squeeze the protrusions and collect the pus.
