Character Description:
If you were to stop and look at the eccentric man passing by you, you'd certainly be shocked. Feathery white hair carefully parted falls lightly over a rugged but still weary looking face. A curious pair of glasses cover blue eyes, and a full beard parts with a wide grin. His tall confident stature doesn't betray his slight limp, and you noticed an intriguing mechanical leg between the folds of his robe. If he were to catch your eye, he'd wave excitedly and greet you in a heavy, leathery smooth Georgian accent, and shake your hand until it fell off.
Personality Outline:
Arne has a boisterous personality to say the least. He's constantly described as being jolly and friendly, getting along with most if not all of his colleagues. His "southern hospitality" brings a feeling of warmth into every situation and has even managed to make the Department of Mysteries a somewhat cheery place to work. Arne finds ways to be optimistic even in the face of his disability and the worst of situations.
Arne is vehemently opposed to Blood-Status Discrimination and is vocally against everything the cult stands for. This has put him in more of a public eye as one of the few members of the ministry who will speak openly about the cult and the dangers they pose rather than promote ignorance behind a shroud of blind confidence.
Background
Mother: Rosaline Amalgam (neƩ French), age 85
Rosaline French was somewhat of an infamous child for a time. When a wealthy and prominent Muggle stock trader in New York City had an affair with a wizarding woman, Rosaline was born and shoved onto him, her mother never to be seen again. Rosaline's father became fuel for all of the tabloids for the scandal of one of Wall Streets "most honest men".
Despite pressure from his colleagues and the news media to give up this half-bastard child, he rose her on his own, giving her the best of childhoods she could hope for. When she was thirteen she was told, by letter, that she was a wizard, and that as soon as she graduated Muggle school, she would be admitted into The Arthurian University of Magical Studies in Salem, Massachusetts.
At age 21 she completed her magical studies and aspired to travel the country. She toured the magical neighborhoods and muggle cities across the country for three years, before finally deciding a more simple existance was for her and settled down in the wizard community of General's Alcove (a suburb of Savannah, Georgia).
From there she worked as a secretary for a local, but well known, businessman who made Magical Artifacts and Tools. They soon fell into a romance and married, producing seven children. Today Rosaline and her husband Gabriel live in New Orleans and have retired, running a small cafe in the French Quarter.
Father: Gabriel Amalgam, age 82
Gabriel was born and raised in the small but tightly bound wizarding community of General's Alcove. The Amalgam family was well rooted in Georgia, having been there since before the American Revolution. The eldest of three children, Gabriel was set to take the reigns of the family business: Amalgam Artifacts, which created tools and magical artifacts of the highest caliber and were well known in the area.
Despite showing little interest in the creation aspect of the business itself, after his education, Gabriel took over the business, leaving the techincal aspect to his brother and sister, and managing all of the trade and business facets. A few years afterwards, he would hire a secretary who would later end up being his wife, Rosaline French.
After the birth of his fourth child, Gabriel passed on the business to his brother Michael and moved the family to New Orleans, wanting to open new horizons and experience something different from small town life. Ultimately he fathered seven children before retiring and running a small cafe in the French Quarter, with his wife.

Country of Origin: Savannah, Georgia - United States of America
Heritage: Half-Blood (born to a Half-Blood mother and a Pureblood Father)
History: Born in 2043 in Savannah, Georgia, Arne was the third of seven children. Five years after he was born and three years after the birth of his younger sister, Arne's family decided to relocate to the bustling and cultural city of New Orleans, where they would spend the rest of his childhood.
From a very young age, Arne showed a surprising mechanical aptitude, dismantling his own crib with a screwdriver. He's always had an obsession with tinkering, and at age seven, took an apprenticeship to a clockmaker to earn some spending money, but ended up loving it and continues to do it as a hobby.
After completing his magical education, at age 19 he applied to the United States Bureau for Magical Defense and Investigation (the U.S. equivalent to the Auror office.). He had to apply twice, but was accepted and put through a rigorous training regimen. At age 21 he was fully inducted as an agent.
For ten years he rose through the ranks becoming a fine agent, traveling the country and the world to take down dark wizards and stop grand conspiracies. This was abruptly cut short, however, when during a climactic battle involving him, three other agents, and an extremely powerful dark wizard killed two of his colleagues and blew off his leg. It took months of recuperation to return him to his normal self, and even then, he lost his leg and was wheelchair bound.
Unable to continue doing what he loved, he began to fall into a depression, until it was suggested a change of scenery might be beneficial to him. His younger sister Apolline, an entrepid reporter, suggested England, partially due to her aspirations to be a reporter for the Prophet, and because of the many Ministry jobs Arne could hold.
Arne and Apolline moved to two small homes in Godric's Hollow, a location rich with magical history, and settled down. Apolline got a job as a reporter and Arne was accepted into the Department of Mysteries soon after. A year passed with Arne and his sister leading relatively happy lives. Eventually, Arne became fed up with being wheelchair bound, and armed with his experiences in the Deptartment of Mysteries, and his immense mechanical skills, crafted and enchanted a mechanical leg for himself. Despite taking a while to get used to, Arne can walk strongly, although with a cane for support.
Arne ascended through the ranks, and after a while, Apolline moved away to London to further her career. Arne now works as the Overseer of the Department, the highest position, and has made leaps and bounds in many fields, unable to be discussed because of government restrictions. He now travels often, and is said to be working on a large and pivotal research, possibly involving something relevant to the current tumultuous situations.
