Mackenzie Ellis is the youngest of 3 born to a muggle family. She is the only one of her siblings to be magical, and she is very proud of it. Her cleverness gets the best of her at times, coming off as forward to others, but she is always willing to help a fellow with or wizard in need. She loves herbology and studying magical creatures. Her love of plants and animals makes her a whizz at potions. She always enjoys music, reading, writing, and art. Strike up a conversation about any of these, and you're golden.

Mackenzie has a type of logical thinking that forces her to state things that are very, very obvious. Because of this, sarcasm is hard for her. Her humor is very dry. She enjoys analyzing books and films because she feels like a person's opinion is the easiest way to get to know them. She enjoys smart humor and surrounding herself with people who aren't afraid to be brainy. Her logical thinking also turns her into somewhat of a risk taker. She is not afraid to break a rule if it gaining access to something important outweighs the risk it takes to get it.

Mackenzie was born on June 1st, 15 years ago. She has two older siblings who are twins, Charlie & Ella. Because of this, she had always felt like the outcast of the family. Her parents were both employed and made a very comfortable living.
They lived in the city about 3 blocks from a public library and 5 blocks from a greenhouse. The greenhouse was owned by an older woman named of January Jergens. She had always seemed slightly odd to Mackenzie, but in a good way.
Every other day after school Mackenzie would choose a book about plants and their medicinal purposes and take them to Mrs. Jergens at the greenhouse. Mrs. Jergens would show her exactly what each plant looked like and it's purpose. A few years before Mackenzie got her acceptance letter to Hogwarts, her mother had found out about her "after school activities." Jealous, and somewhat hurt, her mother forbid her to go there anymore, using the excuse that Mrs. Jergens was a busy woman and didn't need to be bothered by young nosey girls. This was the beginning of a rocky relationship between her and her mother.
Mackenzie rarely visits home during the school year, and very reluctantly returns for summer vacation. Just this last summer, Mackenzie has returned to that greenhouse that Mrs. Jergens owned to find that it had closed. Mrs. Jergens had passed away a few years ago. From then on, Mackenzie dedicated most of her time and study in magical herbology and potions, yearning for the time when she was young and spent many of her days in that beautiful greenhouse.
