There has been outrage over the past week as a centaur wearing human clothing has been said to be 'parading around Hogsmeade' as the locals have said, as if he were one of us. The disgruntled and fearful residents of the village have sent complaints and requests to the ministry to have the creature removed but there has been some confusion over the situation.
After arriving at the town shortly after the last sighting one of our reporters interviewed the public. "I just don't feel safe. We know how wild they can be and how they've threatened our peace at the school and here in the town over the past year. He's been trying to come here for a while now but now we just seem to be letting him do it because we're scared not to. The headmaster isn't doing anything about it! We need him gone" Said one man, who we will not name, who was distressed about the centaur, a resident of Hogwarts after being banished from the forest by his own for reasons unbeknownst to us.
"He was wearing human clothes, had a cloak on and a shirt, even had a haircut and a shave by the looks of him, i don't like it, its given me the shakes. He came into Puddifoot's with a witch, i think she works in a shop nearby, they had a meal here and scared off our customers.. i'm not sure i even feel safe living and working here anymore" said a woman we also interviewed over at Puddifoots.
It's unclear what the Magical Creatures sector are doing as of now but we know it is being discussed with Headmaster Fallyn Padarn Salvador right now. Do you have an opinion on the matter that you'd like to share? Owl us here at the Daily Prophet. [OOC I would be happy for people to send in notes either as their characters or random npc Hogsmeade residents with an opinion and post it on this thread ]

Elric Dodgeson, High Office MoM writes;
I was appalled when i read about this. There should be no question involved with the matter. The centaur needs to be put to death for violating the laws and boundaries that we have set for their species and i hope that the Magical Creatures department will do the right thing and have the creature culled.
Clearly being away from its own kind it has lost its mind and is a danger to all of us. Have it removed before someone is hurt or killed.

I've seen this peculiar centaur wandering Hogsmede. Centaurs are a noble breed, I have encountered many of them among my travels. Of course, as I'm sure you know, the most exciting encounter I had with them was in the Roman Countryside when I traveled with a herd of them for two weeks in search of the palace of Lucius Cicero (as described in glorious detail in my book "The Roman Ransom"). I learned a lot those two weeks, and their nomadic culture was purely fascinating.
P.S. Pre-Order your copies now of "The Catherwood Adventures Box Set: The Early Years" containing "A Spellbinding Pantheon", "The Last Scholar", and "The Goldsmiths of Thebes" with all new anecdotes, authors notes, and an autographed picture of me, plus everyone who pre-orders the box set gets a replica of the wand of Demeter!

M. Bennight, MoM, writes:
As I am not particularly fond of long-winded responses to such simple things as this which should, frankly, not even require an argument, I will keep this as concise as is possible.
Are centaurs not living, breathing creatures as much as wizards? Do some wizards or witches not choose to live completely within muggle society, from time to time? Do house elves not live within our society, often dressed and treated as members of the family? Then why, pray tell, is it so outrageous that one single centaur would like to find him or herself within a wizarding town such as Hogsmeade? What harm has this one centaur truly done to any of us, other than perhaps exist?
There is only one answer to this "predicament" - leave the poor fellow alone to live as he so pleases until the point at which he becomes a legitimate menace to the populace of Hogsmeade, Hogwarts, or the general wizarding community.
