Character Description:
Pink rosy cheeks settle on this old man's face. White hair under an old cap and a fine mustache under his nose, this old man has gone through a lot in his almost eighty years of living. Dark blue trousers and a cream-colored shirt fit snug under the black sweater vest of Sir Papadopoulos. Slumping at 5'7" on his wooden cane, this hazel eyed Greek old man limped his way towards the Quidditch pitch, murmuring about the next set of brats he had to teach.
Personality/Beliefs Outline:
Nikolos is a grumpy old man. He wasn't always grumpy, but after losing his ability to play Quidditch at a young age, losing his wife, and his kids leaving to do their own thing, he has a lot to be grumpy for. He generally likes to spend his time being alone outside with his donkey, Dino. If he was forced to socialize, Nikolos would rather spend it with the staff at Hogwarts or other adults than the children. When someone calls him "stubborn as a mule", it's really what defines him. He rarely changes his ways and his old age keeps him quite "country". He can be somewhat of a misogynist due to his upbringing (his mother, wife, and daughter ending up being housewives), but it would only show when he is under stress.
Status - blood, house, or fame - doesn't even bother him. Nikolos will always judge students at first impression. He respects all of the Quidditch players on the field, but off the field, he's the same grumpy old man. Granted he doesn't like being away from home, but he likes being around flying and Quidditch.
Nikolos holds a heavy punch with his wooden cane. One nasty remark or misdirection could send a student crying their way to the hospital wing. He uses his cane more than his wand in most cases when punishing students. He is always seen smoking his pipe outside, but never inside for the children's safety (not his words).

Country of Origin: Hydra, Greece
Heritage: Muggleborn
History:
Nikolos was born in a small island known as Hydra. He was the oldest of three children in his family. He never felt special growing up. After school, he'd spend most of the day helping his father with fishing. It was an average life for an average boy on the island. In 2030, Greece was still in a economic crisis. The Papadopoulos household had it rough money-wise. Nikolos, only ten years old, took it upon himself to quit school and help his father with his fishing job.
However, a year later, a professor from a wizarding school on a different island came by to deliver the news to the Papadopoulos family - Nikolos was a wizard. Dimitri was confused but excited for his older brother and one year old Lysandra was too busy tugging on the professor's robes to care. Nikolos' parents didn't want him to go, but after some convincing from both Nikolos and the professor, he was on his way.
Nikolos spent his first years in the wizarding world trying everything he could. He realized he wasn't good in Potion making, but Charms and Transfiguration were his thing. The other classes were great too, but more forgettable. (Though, he did enjoy learning about magical creatures) Flying became his number one activity after classes and eventually, Nikolos joined the Quidditch team as a Beater from his 2nd year and until his graduation from school.
Due to Nikolos' own social status of being a fisherman's son, he was at first an outcast. However, when he joined the Quidditch team, he was soon respected after proving to himself worthy. His grades were always average and when graduation came down, he was offered a chance to be the beater for Greece's Quidditch team. Nikolos took the offer and for once, he seemed proud of himself.
Being a young adult now, Nikolos was on the team for a few years and had gotten a beautiful wife, Elena. They had three beautiful children, even if one did turn out to be a squib. During a fierce hailstorm during a Quidditch game, Nikolos, barely able to see around him, got hit with a bludger to the back and then again in the same game. Instead of receiving treatment, Nikolos (26 years old) was stubborn and thought it would recover over time and started his early retirement to be with his family.
Their two sons went off to wizarding school and their daughter studied in a muggle school. The eldest son had a knack for Quidditch just like his father and the youngest son had found a skill for potion making. The daughter soon married after school and became a housewife like her mother.
Nikolos thought he could get back onto the broom and be a Beater again. Due to his stubbornness to get treated, Nikolos faced permanent back injury and his left arm (his beater arm) was incapable of striking a bludger with a bat. This indeed devastated the middle-age man. He watched his children grow up and start their own families and soon lost his wife due to a heart attack.
Being in his late 70's and alone, Nikolos wanted to get as close to Quidditch as he possibly could. Most wizarding schools turned him down due to his old age, but Hogwarts wasn't one of them.
