Character Description: Standing at 5'5", she was of average height for a fifth year, slightly curvy and athletic body and her natural confidence allowing her to stand taller. Medium brown hair was thin and just past her shoulders, pulled back into a messy ponytail and her thick, shaggy bangs often obscuring her vision. Coffee-hued eyes were framed with square frames in black, often sliding down a cute button nose. A broad, mischievous grin was crooked yet full on her features. She rarely wore her onyx school robes, preferring a gray, long-sleeved sweater with her shirt's sleeves rolled up to her elbow. Yellow and black tie was always loose and lopsided under her collar. Gray skirt was opted out for black pants, brown Quidditch boots worn, matching brown gloves on her hands.
Personality Outline: Amber is somewhat of a contradiction, very out-going yet somewhat of a loner. She is a very private person, though, opens up far too easily to people. She acts like she doesn't care about school but secretly thrives to be the best she can possibly be, having dreams far bigger than her realities. She is extremely empathetic and often easily manipulated without realizing it. Amber is also very, very boisterous unlike most of her Hufflepuffs and goes out of her way to prove herself, a quality usually belonging to Slytherin's, and she squashes any obstacle in her way to achieve her dreams. Yet, she is extremely kind and often feels too much, so much in fact, she has to hide her sensitivity from the prying eyes of her peers and rarely, if ever, allows anyone to see it. When she does makes friends, however, her Hufflepuff mentality breaks through and she is extremely, extremely loyal. Yet, because of her troubled past and her own misgivings, she often acts out in class and in the halls, pulling pranks on anyone unobservant enough to get in her line of sight. She is often in detention but doesn't seem to mind unless it conflicts with her training schedule or another prank that needs doing. Yet, even though she toys with her peers, she is quite the opposite with animals, very nurturing and kind to all animals she meets and having a sort of... knack for getting the wildest of animals to come up to her. She is often seen alone on the grounds befriending wild animals and excels in Care of Magical Creatures because of this. She is also an idealistic dreamer, looking to the stars at night and thinking of what could be, thinking of the future and dreaming up fantastical stories that were once only fiction but now, could perhaps come true.

Instead of having his surname, Saunders, or her mother's surname Romanoff, she was given her father's mother's maiden name of Laraine. Though, she was born in England, she was soon taken away from her father, her parent's separated but not divorced, and was naturalized immediately as a Russian citizen. She was raised poor and unwanted, her elder sibling only her half-sibling as her mother had slept with a former Russian soldier and conceived her brother prior to meeting Amber's father. From am early age she was different and therefore secretly resented by her mother, though, being the extremely perceptive and empathetic girl she was, she picked up on her mother's feelings immediately. Around the time she was 5, her parents got back together temporarily, and by the time she was 7, she had a baby sister. Soon after, her parents split up again and the distress caused her to act out, weird things happening around the house. Her mother didn't know how to handle it and at 8 years old, she was sent to England to live with her father. Her father noticed the strange things and instead of beating his child or yelling harsh words at her, he comforted her and told her it was alright to be different. By 11, they finally figured out why as her letter came to her from Hogwarts. Her father notified her mother immediately and the next day, divorce papers were in the mail and the marriage was severed. Her mother to this day, refuses to acknowledge her existence and by proxy, Amber no longer has any way to speak to her siblings. When she got to Hogwarts, the Sorting Hat didn't know where to place her! Her thirst to prove herself by any means had the sorting hat leaning towards Slytherin but way, her courage and ability to never stand down and to defend herself and her friends had it leaning towards Gryffindor yet... in the end, all these abilities were no stronger than the rest and she was placed in Hufflepuff. Over the years, she slowly became to become acquainted with the Wizarding World, her owl Athena helping her during Summer Holidays to keep in touch with friends and she even began to subscribe to The Daily Prophet, wanting to know about everything as soon as it happened. Now, as she prepares for her OWLs, she hopes to do well enough to be able to stay on track, wanting to become an Auror... or maybe a Quidditch star... or maybe a Professor one day. Who knew? She was fifteen, she only pretended like she had all the answers.
