Dmitri has an almost kind of puppyish charm about him -- excitable and playful and rather easy to get along with. Nothing about him seems put together, from his crooked, too-big clothes to his wild hair. His big eyes are warm and kind, and he loves helping others even when they don't seem to want it. Just like a puppy, always coming back even when he's been kicked.

Character Description:
Brown hair with natural darker streaks falls, tousled and tangled, across his forehead; rises in soft-looking tufts on top of his head and trails down to the nape of his neck in the back. His bangs are almost long enough to cover mismatched eyes -- the right one is blue and the left one is green. He wears the colors of Ravenclaw, though his robes are a bit too big for him and the edges are frayed because he can't seem to stop tripping over them. He's excitable and honest, easy to be friends with, though most people tend to think of him with fondness, like they would a puppy; and he is clumsy, long-limbed and prone to taking tumbles. Honestly, it's a surprise he even made it into Ravenclaw in the first place.
Personality/Beliefs Outline:
Dmitri believes in the equality of all things. He doesn't like killing, generally, and he doesn't like hearing about it -- hence why he stays away from the newspaper. He's a happy child for the most part, but he can be quiet, too, and intense when he's studying. All he wants is to be a good wizard, and he knows he has a lot to prove.

History:
Dmitri's parents died in a fire when he was six years old. He watched them die, smelled the scent of cooking meat while they burned, and it has left him terrified of fire ever since. Even the smallest flicker of flame is enough to make him tense and jumpy, so he tries to keep his head down and stay away from open fires if he can.
After the death of his parents, he was in and out of orphanages and foster care for years. Thankfully they left him a trust fund, but he can't touch it until he's eighteen. That doesn't bother Dmitri, and it's not why he can't hold down a home. It's just that he has nightmares, terrible nightmares, and after a while his foster families can't handle his fear and they would send him back.
Getting the letter from Hogwarts was not a big shock for him. His mother had been a witch, and Dmitri figured he had a shot, so he was happy to be whisked away to England so he could accept his legacy as the Dorshan family's only remaining wizard--their only remaining lineage, really.
