personality
enjoys
- exotic creatures
- reading
- dueling
- quidditch
- speed
despises
- lying ( except for good reason, ie not letting people know she's muggle-born, keeping herself out of trouble, etc )
- traitors
- losing anything - whether it be competition or an object.
quirks
- a keen eye, able to pick out the smallest detail
- light on her feet, athletic.
- a quick learner - doesn't need to take notes and is able to absorb everything that is spoken to her.
- smart & intellectual, overly bright and doesn't tend to show it.
- determined & single minded.
- very keen when it comes to dueling. she's more prone to curses and spells.
flaws
- obsessive when she's found something she's determined on.
- mischievous and enjoys dipping more in the Dark Arts. she's overly fascinated by them, and is known to do some secret studies.
- a little too proud of herself. she becomes overly defensive when people point out a flaw she has, or when people rub things in her face.
- has a natural inability to pull of charms, really. almost like she has a natural aversion to it.
- absolutely professional procrastinator.
- being a foriegner, she's sometimes prone to not understanding things the first time around. she, too, is also confusing in the way she speaks.
physical
She looks older than she is - but maybe that's due to long legs, well developed features and a slim face with full lips. Pretty, but hardly interested in her own looks. She sports white, plain, button up shirts well, generally wearing black camisoles underneath, and usually leaving buttons, well, unbuttoned. Her ties were usually used as belts for black pinstriped pants, usually worn with black flats, converses, or heels, depending on her mood. Her hair, typically blond due to Russian lineage, is straight with sideswept bangs. It flows to about the middle of her back but is often pulled to the front evenly, hanging over her chest. Her wand, at all times, is held in her pocket, which has been altered to be deep enough to hold it completely.
mental
She looked older than she was, and sometimes she acted it, too. A bookworm with a habit of sticking her nose where it doesn't belong, Lance is prone to getting detention often, but taking it as simply another adventure. Upbeat, she's often caught telling jokes to one another or passing snide comments that weren't to be taken seriously. Lance couldn't honestly hate anyone, but there was the natural competition that rose simply because of her Gryffindor pride. She tends to be more wild than her classmates - enjoying the outdoors more especially in colder weather - Russian blood will do that to you! - and often she enjoys to be alone, simply listening to nature. Docile when by herself, she's rambunctious around others, enthusiastic and always playing everything off as a challenge that needs to be taken up and beaten. She's never in low spirits, and if anyone is - despite house, age, gender or race, she'll attempt to make friends to brighten their own spirits. Despite supposedly having a good deal of friends, Lance is usually found on her own unless accompanied by a band that will follow her to the end.

the truth
Being Muggle-born, Lance never knew of magic until she had been introduced to her grandparents at age nine. Born in Russia, the grandparents had moved to London first, settled down, and then ushered for the rest of the family to move over as soon as possible. Lance wasn't fond of moving at all, and her parents took to English culture faster than she could say 'good-bye' to the hustle and bustle of Moscow. Her father had taken to banking quickly - a branch of the bank in Moscow had been in London, and he took up his job as if he'd just come back from vacation. Lance's mother, unfortunately, being a teacher, had no need to be used in the London academics, and thus was forced into a position to take care of Lance as she grew older.
It wasn't until around age nine that Lance started showing signs. When babysitters came over, their clothes tended to catch on fire, glasses shattered, plates were broken across desks and on walls, and often, both parents would come home shocked to find such a disgrace. It was soon after they'd gone through about three babysitters that both parents decided that handing Lance to her wizard grandmother was the best option for their daughter's future. Her grandmother, over the next two years, taught Lance most of what she knew. When the first letter arrived that Lance had been chosen to go to Hogwarts, her grandmother was quick to shuffle her off to Diagon Alley to buy her supplies. Lance's first year at Hogwarts went smoothly, and when she returned home, she'd found out the news that her grandmother had passed away. Thrown in a severe depression, Lance returned to Hogwarts under a constant storm-cloud. It was then when she dabbled in sneaking around, reading about the Dark Arts and finding what she thought was interesting, and what fully called her. The next year went as smooth as the first - she quickly moved into an even more happier setting, feeling as though what she was truly supposed to do in life had called her. She had taken up Quidditch again - she started in her first year as a seeker and had taken a break in her second year - and seemed to be equipped with new abilities. Her life quickly turned around. She practically disowned her parents while within Hogwarts, merely talking of her grandmother, whom everyone thought Lance lived with and was still alive. Her grandmother had left all Galleons for Lance, all of which her own parents were unaware of. Lance took quickly to independent life, spending a good deal of time in her room awaiting the arrival of her Great Horned Owl, Alexei.
During her free studies, she'd learn to become an animagi with much training and little success usually accompanying it. She'd looked into the records of her grandmother that were left behind for her own use, and had finally mastered the ability to turn into a Eurasian lynx - the form her grandmother had taken while she was at Wizarding school back in Russia.
Beginning her fifth year at Hogwarts, she's begun to grow more and more towards darker wizardry, and took classes to accommodate such an interest.
