Of course the focus would be on the front door, clever Sable! Of course one would think they'd come in through that door. There was a group of werewolves lined up in the back hall very barely keeping themselves on the low down and Canute, the largest of them, bulking with black fur paced and listened. When the alarm was raised he quickly pressed his face to the door and snarled lowly as he listened, perhaps the most in control of all of them. The others would know to follow when he went. NOW. The brute of a creature pushed the door open so hard it splintered as it struck the wall and then a moment passed when nothing emerged from the door. That was when three of the smaller and less important wolves were ushered forwards and all emerged one after the other into the room and raced for the student tables whilst the one at the front charged immediately for the staff table and leapt up onto it, skidding along and grabbing at Alex's robes with its teeth. Horrific barks and grizzly snarls echoed through the great hall whilst Canute stayed within the hall, waiting, They didn't need to know he was there yet.Sable Thanasis had begun the spells needed to shut the front doors when the side-hall's door went down. Damn! She should have made certain! She ordered, "Take the Children to Hufflepuff Hall, NOW!" Then she turned and raised her wand and fired, while shouting, "INCARCEROUS!" at one wolf, sending out tight chains that would hopefully bind wolf. --Leslie was out for the count.
Stratus took off up into the air with a loud screech as the werewolf almost landed on him and was rewarded with a few tail feathers being snapped from him. The eagle turned full circle and swooped down at the werewolf on the staff table, claws pointed for its eyes but the beast would duck and recieve torn ears instead.Alexaviar was highly concerned about the unconcious teacher at the time that he had not reached for his wand when the wolf came right at him. "Wake up, the students need yo-." Yank.. Large jaws wrapped around the trailing of his robes and he was pulled over onto the ground by the creature. "Fu-" He scrambled for his wand with his shaking hands while a boot was aimed to kick the creature in the face. Huzzah.
Heather Jones fought through her panic and started getting some of the younger children behind her while she raised her own wand. She'd been trained in this! Her family knew the right spells! She stuttered a bit as she cast, "Le-Le- Levi- LEVICORPUS!" at the nearby Werewolf, hoping to send it in to the air. Should she succeed and not fail due to her fear.
Nessa Kennard was one of the closest to the doors, and thus once again moved to obey Sable's command. Afterall, she was a healer, and not much use in hand-to-wolf combat. As she began calling for the attention of students, trying to herd them all to the main doors, and the same time throwing even her feeable offensive spells at the wolves that were bounding towards them. As students gathered around her, Nessa began backing up to the doors, to pry them open. Oh please, please, pleeeeease let these be the only creatures to worry about.
Larus Pontin screamed like a god damned girl the moment the werewolves rushed out and he stood quickly and grabbed a goblet, throwing it at the werewolf's head and grabbing up plates immediately after. What magic could he even do!?
Diedre Quinn didn't imagine her her first term feast to errupt like this, looking to the otheer members of staff, for any clue. She curled her fingers around her wand, pulling it out of the pocket of her robes, before the robes came off, and she was in her muggle attire of jeans and a teeshirt. Eyes widened when the werewolves had entered, though she kept heerself calm. Teacher and all, right? Get to the children, she told herself, slipping under the table and running for the closest table, and shouting, "Come on, come on, HURRY!" Curse and jinxes would be called, as she pointed her wand at any werewolf she could, and was going to/already hurting a kid, as she tried to herd kids toward the hall to Hufflepuff.
Olivia Torsson whipped her head around and screamed as the wolves crashed through the Great Hall. She slashed her wand and shrieked, "Petrificus Totalus!" at one werewolf that spotted a nearby first-year. --
Nathan yelled, and dived under a table, trying to crawl towards the front entrance of the Great Hall. He was pretty much useless at combat magic, only hexing and cursing if he had to. In this situation, he would probably get the entire Slytherin table killed.
Emeline Pryce was wand-ready the instant the door splintered. There was no way she was getting caught unprepared like at the joint Halloween ball last year. But how were they to fend off werewolves - and so many at that too? However, even though the 6th year knew she stood no real chance against the beasts, she was there, throwing herself infront of the younger students, wand raised at the monsters closing in. If she was going down, it would not be without a fight.
Lara Rockford stood immediately. "Go to the Entrance Hall!" She bellowed at the younger students. They shouldn't see this if things went terribly bad. Lara would have to postpone her inquiry of what the heck was happening until later. Stratus was never agressive and the menacing army of Werewolves send her into a frenzy. She looked around the room, seeking out the Prefects of all the Houses. Damn it! She couldn't believe this was happening on the first day. I have to do something she thought to herself. She saw Heather and Liv attempt a spell and hoped Lara could help. She squeezed her toes and mustered up all her strength. Focus, she thought. "Immobulus!" she cried, flicking her wand rapidly. "Follow him!" She didn't wait to see if she's slowed the Werewolves. She just gestured wildly for Teagan and Olivia to RUN!
Tate Dawson aimed at the same wolf that Heather had aimed at and he shouted, "Immobila!" Just in case it somehow broke free of her spell or she had to drop it. Then he shouted, "Gryffindors! Let's go!" Time to live up to being the house of Bravery
Thomas Baker spun around in horror as werewolves burst into the hall from all sides. The man would fumble for his wand, chest heaving and eyes wide with terror at the din that echoed all around the Hall
. Pull yourself together. For the student's sake. The man forced himself into something resembling calm, though inside he was terrified; for the students, for his colleagues, and most of all for the woman and child that were blissfully unaware within the confines of the cabin.
Come on, come on, think!. Long forgotten spells would spin through his head until he came up with the first he could put word to.
Confringo. The blasting curse, which would be aimed at the werewolf assaulting Alexaviar.
Werewolf 1 heard the yell of Incarcerous and very much immaculately avoided it but didn't miss being struck with the chains as it rolled over sharply and yelped before getting back up and leaping over a table, cutting a lot of students with its claws in the process before it turned and charged down the table towards where Sable was standing and past the rushing students as they hurried for the entrance hall. The beast would leap from the table to try and throw Sable down to pin her. --
Werewolf 2 was struck with the levicorpus and flailed frantically as its body was taken up into the air, thrashing around and throwing saliva everywhere, probably made an easy target for the other spells too which would probably leave it limp. --
WEREWOLF 3 was tearing at Alex's clothes when the goblet struck it in the head and the creature turned on Larus only to be thrown off the high table by a blast of spell. It hit the lower floor and rolled, yelping in absolute agony before it would get back up and charge off down the slytherin table, snapping at students.
CANUTE smirked, as much as a werewolf could smirk and his gaze fixed on Cyprian momentarily before he made his way out into the hall, the largest of them all. He reared up onto his back legs and let out an absolutely ear shattering howl which successfully caused the students to panic and hurry for the front door but also gave his soldiers strength, in his mind.
IN THE ENTRANCE HALL as the door opened the students and faculty would come face to face with at least 10 other werewolves of all shapes and sizes around the back of the room, under the dungeon overhang and on the grand staircase.. they all growled and slowly crawled closer as the door opened and the only exit seemed to be the front doors that were clawed and wide open.Werewolf returned the lead wolf's howl with one of his own. The beast was standing over one of the fallen, a younger student who had not been quick enough to join the mad rush of students that had fled to the various doors in the Hall. Blood dripping from his muzzle, the werewolf scrambled over the body and charged after the fleeing students, eager to join its fellows in the entry hall.
Alexaviar gets up slowly actually finally looking shaken.. His hair was now even more messy then before which just added to the look. "Cheers." He said to Thomas before pulling out his wand and starting after the students. "This day started so well.."
Sable Thanasis backed up as the wolf charged her and she aimed. Hearing the screams of pain and fear (and at least for one poor child, death), she tried to fire a spell, but at first, she tripped backward. In a brief moment, she thought of her own daughter. Moira, with Diego, deep in the Dungeons, and she knew that she had to protect her as well as these other children, so she shouted, "CONFRINGO!" once the spell connected, it would cause the object (in this case, her intended target, the wolf) to blast backward.
Nerys Hanham grabbed the nearest plate of mashed potatoes, and threw it at the closest werewolf, hopefully giving it an potato facial. Food fight, anyone? Other food was grabbed by the Slytherin fourth year, and thrown at any werewolf, trying to do her part, as she joined the others in heading to the Hufflepuff's hall, only stopping when she saw someone in distress. Silly Nerys, you're not a Gryffindor.
Thomas Baker allowed himself a moment to bask in his small 'victory' as the spell connected with one of the beasts. Maybe hadn't lost his spell-casting mojo after all. There would not be time to gloat, however, as the chaos spilled out of the dining Hall and out toward the grounds. Panic would grip his heart as his thoughts sped toward the cabin. Kayleen and Rhys would be in there. Unaware of the serious danger that was headed their way. A grim determination would set on the man's face as he made to charge through the crowd; he had to get down there, no matter the cost.
Nessa Kennard somehow knew that opening the doors would be bad. Somewhere, deep in her core, she had a gut feeling what they would find when she pushed them open. She felt her heart skip several beats as her eyes fell upon the pack of werebeasts that were eyeing them. Protective instincts flared even yet, and Nessa threw her free arm out in front of the students behind her, wand trained at the cluster of foes they faced. It no longer mattered if she was able to effectively defend the students - she had no choice but to do so well. She scowled, a look that was very uncharacteristic for her, and began firing spells. Bonds, stuns, curses, everything the nurse could think of, her hands w.as moving, and her sweet voice, loud.
Lara Rockford found herself surroundeld her wand out defensively. Only a few werewolves had been frozen by her spell. It was better than none. She didn't want to leave the other students, but knew it wasn't safe. Werewolves were serious business. They could kill you easily. Lara had never seen the Professor take a blow like that. She was afraid, but held her ground, keeping her wits about her.
Larus Pontin leapt over the table at great speed as he saw his wife taken down- and the children - oh god, where was he to start?! "SABLE!" he jumped up onto a table and awkwardly started running along it and stumbling across it and slipping on plates only on time to see the poor werewolf ontop of the woman explode into chunks of gore and broken bone before it collapsed dead. He was relieved but then saw Cyprian [
Werewolf] running along beside him and slightly ahead blood on his lips. He didnt even think before he took a sudden turn and leapt from the table and successfully got himself on Cyprian's back, wrapping his arms around the wolfs thick neck and yanking them up to try and divert its gaze to the ceiling and block its vision of where it was going, legs going around its waist too "Not today!"
Nathaniel Kendrick scuttled under the table on hands and knees, and watched some students try to fight off werewolves. He pulled out his wand and tucked it behind his ear, trying to get to the Hufflepuff hall. He glimpsed a second year Ravenclaw try to paralyze a wolf, but only succeeding for a few moments before the spell wore off and she fled to the Hufflepuff hall. Nathan dropped to his elbows and awkwardly flicked his wand in the werewolf's direction, hissing
Incarcerous!
Werewolf let out a strangled yelp of surprise at the unexpected weight that landed on his back. Snarling and snapping, the werewolf fought with all its might to dislodge whatever was attempting to take it down.
Heather Jones stopped at the doors to the Entrance hall, being among the students running for it, then she blinked, and she felt her small burst of courage begin to faulter. As it faultered, when she tried to cast a protection spell, it failed, completely. Only a few minor sparks fizzled from her wand.
Charlotte Storm happened to appear at that moment, and as she saw the wolves at the stairwell, she yelled, "Bombarda!" causing the stairwell's stones to blast apart. Not the whole stair, mind, but a large enough portion that either wolves under it or those on it would hit major damage (or get crushed). ---
Tate Dawson, still in the Great Hall, pointed his wand at the Werewolf that Professor Pontin was on. "Professor! LET GO! INCENDIO!" he shouted, shooting a burst of fire at the Werewolf, and causing one of its legs to catch fire.
Nessa Kennard was terrified when Baker flew past her, thinking it was one of the students throwing themselves into the fray. But even when she recognized him, Nessa still torn between bolting after him. He would need her help, surely, but the students did as well! Troubled by her dilemna and her overwhelming urge to help both, she found herself stumbling towards the center of the hall, somewhere between the two parties, still firing spell after spell. Deprimo, Congrino, Reducto, Expulso. You name it.
Werewolf. Oh the humanity of it all. Or lack there-of in this case. Hit with his own signature spell that he'd used countlessly against others whilst in his regular form. Screeching and letting out the most horrible of noises, the werewolf would increase in its struggling, desperate to put the fire out.
Lara Rockford headed for the Entrance Hall, finding a few first year kids to push out the door. "Petrificus Totalus!" she shouted at one of the smaller Werewolves, trying to clear a safe path. It only did enough to clear the way for a few seconds. She caught sight of Professor Baker and eyed his impressive dueling skills. Old guy had style. She wanted to get to the Hufflepuff Hall, where she knew the Head Mistress had ordered them to go to be safe. "Oh god," she panted, terrified. "Where should we escape!?" she bellowed to somebody, anybody.
Alexaviar would finally catch up the students, attempting to use some shielding spells to protect the students that were in the hall. "This is quite.. Bad." Understatement of the century. "Excuse me werewolves but could you please not attack the students, we're rather responsible for them."
Sable Thanasis stood up. The chaos...The deaths...The blood. The fear... She had to do something! She had hoped not to need it, but the bloody suits of armor and the stone soldiers were there for a reason, damn it! And if they ever had a situation as dire as The Battle of Hogwarts, it would be this. Sable wasn't a proficient Transfigurist, but she did her best to channel all of her powers, and shouted, "PIERTOTUM LOCOMOTOR!" As the armor suits began to jerk and move about, lifting their weapons up, and the statues that stood above the doors dropped down from their perches to the ground, likely stomping on some wolves in the process, she used Sonorous again, to command the normally inanimate objects, almost echoing another Deputy Headmistress from long ago, "Hogwarts is threatened! Do your duty to her students and to our school! Protect the children and staff from these invaders and drive them away from here NOW!" The stone and metal solider then began to fulfill their purpose. Swinging and hacking at anything that was not a student or a member of the Hogwarts staff.
Larus Pontin set on fire too and clung onto the werewolf as his sleeves burned but then fell off and removed his robes, throwing the burning things over Cyprians face and grabbing for a candlestick to start bashing at his head while the wolf struggled, it was the best he could do!
Olivia Torsson grabbed Lara's sleeve and pulled hard on it; she was going the wrong way. "This way. Hufflepuff hall's this way, towards the kitchens! Follow me!" she squeaked, half stumbling and half running towards a side hall. Olivia slid to her knees and crawled under a table in the direction she indicated.
Emeline Pryce's robes were flying as she spun in circles firing spells furiously at the beasts that had lay siege to their castle. The students had been ordered to evacuate, yes - but Emeline had apparently seemed fit to prove that she was a true student of Gryffindor. She was terrifed, and wanted to do nothing more than run and go hide in her bed, but there will still younger students straggling, and the professors seemed to have their hands full just keeping the monsters at bay. She worked on herding students to the back hall, turning her back only when one of them stumbled.
Stratus - or, at least, the bird that had been thought to be the pet of the former Headmaster - swooped down behind Larus and the bird opened its wings out and started to gain in size until the naked form of a frail and severely bruised Fallyn Salvador stood behind him and grabbed his wand from his pocked before rushing forwards through the crowd. It was no time to be humiliated by nakedness. He pushed to the front and pointed his wand at the werewolves and started to circle the wand violently above him in the air before a long fire whip would lunge from the wands tip and collapse to the ground in front of the wolves and then lift to strike at least two of them violently across their jaws.Thomas Baker, meanwhile, was battling his way out of the great hall. There were a good dozen werewolves milling about the Entrance Hall, and students fleeing left and right in desperate efforts to evade them. A wild light flared in the man's eyes as he cast as many spells as he could think of, all to moderate success. He
had to get out to the grounds. Baker cursed and shouted and screamed as he went, trying to distract the werewolves so that the students could dash to freedom.
Werewolf kicked and snapped and fought. Whatever he could do to stop the relentless barrage. For all that he lacked in size and skill, Larus proved to be quite the formidable opponent.
Heather Jones was glad that
Charlotte was such a studious person now! She aimed at the stairs as well, and cast, "Immobilia!" At another wolf, while Charlotte cast a near perfect 'Incendio!" at a wolf, as well, to cause it to catch fire. Meanwhile,
Tate tried to help Professor Pontin with the thing called Werewolf, and ended up failing at casting another spell, making only some blue sparks sputter out. "Oh no." But Tate was witness to the return of their favorite Headmaster. "Professor Salvador!" he cheered, before he got his spirits back up and turned to go toward the entrance hall to help.
Lara Rockford was almost knocked down by the tug upon her robes. She paniced, watching Olivia run toward the kitchen. She groaned and shouted, "You're going the wrong way!" She had her wand ready, She was impressed by Olivia's slide but the table made her throw her hands uo in frustration. "A werewolf will break right through that!" she said quickly, "Liv, we have to get out of here! That table isn't going to do any good!"
Nessa Kennard managed to stun a wolf. At least, she hoped she had stunned him when he faltered, because she was already in the motion of turning to bind another. She had no time to determine the success of her spells - she was hardly able to keep them at bay. "You must go!" She bellowed at the students that remained in the hall. She appreciated that they were trying to help, but she was finding it difficult to protect all of them. "You must get to safety!" Nessa was beginning to tire, beginning to grow dizzy from her constant twirling. The foes were plenty, and the spells, out of her expertise, were faltering.
Alexaviar was running around trying to protect students from the heavily wounded to the ones that were unharmed... He was only one Alex but he appeared to be doing his best.. "Need a cup of tea.." He mumbled under his breath as he levitated one of the injured students to a safer position. "And some freshly made biscutes..." Sigh.
Canute didn't like being at the back of the line, the werewolf paced the empty staff table as it watched the students and snarled as Cyprian was set alight and wrapped in someones robes. Idiot. He turned his head sharply and charged down off the table as a student ran for the kitchen and stood in front of the door, hackles going up, maw peeling back to bare dripping teeth at her. Oh yes he was the largest of them... be afraid. -
OUT IN THE ENTRANCE HALL - Sable's spell had done exactly as intended and whilst students were doing their best and harming the werewolves, it didn't stop the suits of armor carving through a fair deal of them, five were killed very quickly but at least two turned and chased Thomas out of the building and raced across the grounds after him, though one was whipped by flames on its way out and thrust at great speed into a wall by Salvador, one still rushed up beside baker with its maw dripping saliva, snapping at his face and missing the first time. Only four werewolves remained within the building, not counting Cyprian and Canute but howls started to rise in chilling chorus across the grounds from outside the castle.Larus Pontin was really struggling with the strength of Cyprian and grappling him but as it continued he found he could barely breath but bit hard at the wolfs ear and tugged hard, enough to tear it most likely but then lost his ballance and fell flat onto his back beside the werewolf and tried to get up quickly, but a blunder like that was dangerous.
Werewolf was bit! By a HUMAN. How undignified! Thrashing and rolling, the werewolf bit and clawed at the air, hoping to make contact. The creature felt the human's strength giving way as he lunged to one side. It seemed that Larus' luck had finally begun to run out.
Thomas Baker ran like he'd never run before. Gasping for breath, throat raw from shouting and chest burning from the effort. He was driven by terror, adrenaline coursing through his body as he booked it for all he was worth out into the grounds.
Sable Thanasis was drained from having to concentrate on the Piertotum Locomotor spell. Thus, when she saw Larus fall and saw the wolf near him about to attack, she was unable to fire anything from her wand. With no other alternatives, she grabbed a knife. Not even the arrival of Fallyn made her feel any relief. Larus was going to die! She shrieked, "NOT MY HUSBAND!" then she ran for the wolf and stabbed the knife deep in to its arm to distract him. "RUN LARUS!"
Emeline Pryce turned just in time to see one of the remaining werewolves step into her path. She had just enough time to reach out a hand to snag the hood of the second year beside her, and yank him backwards. Emmie practically threw herself infront of the kid, her own eyes wide and panicked as she came to face the blood-soaked wolf. Terror ran through her veins with a paralyzing effect, but at least she had enough sense to keep her wand drawn.
Larus Pontin yelled as the Werewolf landed on him, suddenly it was all out of his control as the teeth latched down onto his wrist and tore at the skin of his arm. He swung his other hand up and grabbed for Cyprians jaw and latched his fingers under the teeth and over the nose and blocked his breathing so that he'd have to let go unless the creature had room to breath through its mouth, too busy to really notice what else was going on and then he heard the woman "CANT!" he yelled, blood drenched now down his arm.
Lara Rockford tried to urge Olivia out from under the table. She saw the Gryffindor team beater get fiercely attacked by a werewolf saving a second year boy. "See what I mean!" she said frantically. Lara couldn't leave now. People were getting hurt in here and the time for her escape had passed. She was ready with her wand, searching her mind for some healing charms. "Epesky!" she shouted, pointing her wand at Emmie. It was useless, though against the werewolf bites. "Oh my god!" she said, eyes welling up with tears. Suddenly Quidditch rivalries didn't mean squat.
Nessa Kennard was ever so grateful when Sable's spell took effect, cleaving through wolves only moments before her legs gave out. Hitting the stone with a thud, she kept her wand pointed, trying to regain her strength. It was a few moments before she found herself able to climb to her feet, and she stumbled shakily back into the hall. It did not matter how exhausted she was, both ally and foe remained, and thus there were still things to do. Hair in dissarray, the sweet nurse looking every bit wild, she shakily began seeing to the injured, still on high alert should any of the remaining wolves draw near.
Werewolf bit down, hard, the satisfying taste of blood hitting his tongue. The knife plunging into his leg only served to cause the werewolf to bite harder. Only when Larus' desperate attempt to free himself obstructed his breathing, did the wolf lurch backwards. Nearly choking as he retched and pawed at his muzzle, one leg held up as blood flowed freely, the werewolf limped off as fast as it was able in the direction of its fellows.
Heather Jones had seen Professor Baker make his run for the grounds, and heard the wolf howls. Well, if ever she was going to prove she was worthy of being part of the Potters... She yelled, 'Accio Nimbus 30X!" Her broom soon wizzed down to her and she jumped on to it and rose above the wolves and students. "I"ll go help Baker!" He likely didn't realize there were wolves in the woods.
Charlotte, meantime, watched around the four remaining wolves inside, and she cast, "Immobila!" at one, freezing it in place.
Tate Dawson pointed his wand at the floor in front of another remaining wolf, and cast, "Confringo!" causing the floor around to combust and either send the wolf flying, or blow it up, depending on how close it was.
Olivia Torsson shrieked as Canute loomed over her, snarling. she stumbled back, and turned to run, clinging to Lara's arm. Trembling, she yanked on the older girl's arm and turned to flee, eyes bugging out as she fled. Olivia twisted behind a table, and heaved a heavy turkey towards Canute, dropped to her knees and scuttled towards the staff table.
Sable Thanasis was about to attempt another spell, or pull her knife out and stab the wolf again to make it let go of her husband, but then the beast let go of him, and started to retreat. It seemed as if they were beginning to retreat. She gasped and heard the screams of the girls. She looked from Larus to the girls, then she said, "Larus...Forgive me," and she ran towards them, yelling, "Get behind me! Help Professor Pontin!" she ordered the girls, then she moved to make herself a shield between the largest wolf and the rest of the living in the Great Hall.
Canute let out a low rumbling sound that seemed something akin to laugher deep in its throat and the wolf craned its neck forwards and drew its slobber covered tongue slowly up over her face and then snapped its teeth to grab her robes before yanking its head to the side. If she didnt try to dodge this would throw her very far and probably crashing onto the tables with enough force to break something or even hit one of the other students and break both of them.
Alexaviar managed to get a large quantity of students to safety and headed towards the door. "Do not leave this room and keep the door barred, Sixth and Seventh years put up defensive spells." They seemed to be decent instructions before he started back towards the Grand Hall.. With any luck the Professors would have sorted that part of the school out. Stepping through the doors Alex's expression went from stressed to exausted.
Nessa Kennard heard Sable's cry, and was stumbling to where Larus lay. She fell to her knees beside him, visably upset by the events that were taking place. Her hand was shaking as she pointed her wand at him. There were no spells that could stop the curse that was now placed upon him, but the least she could do was tend to the bleeding. Because this was indeed a cursed wound, however, she would not be able to mend it entirely. Her voice wavering, Nessa crooned, reaching out to stem the bleeding with her bare hand. Tears were falling from her cheeks as she began the task at hand - what little she could really do indeed.
Fallyn Padarn Salvador was doing a good job of keeping the werewolves back but when they tried to get outside the man threw them back against the wall and had backed the only four surviving ones on the inside into a corner "Sable!!! call off the suits! The threat is outside the castle, scare them away. They are in an animal state of mind, big flashy things, DO IT!" he yelled back to her as loudly as he could, hoping anyone else might hear. The whipmade an oval around the four werewolves and kept them barred against the wall but was no longer striking them.
Larus Pontin was pale and shaking as his body went into shock, his arm was pretty torn up indeed and his body felt sick. He rolled onto his side slowly and vomited horribly off to the side.
Sable Thanasis turned her head toward Salvador, and she cast the spell that would return the statues and suits to inanimate objects. She raised her wand, and hoped enough strength had returned that she could cast her next spell. She raised her hand up, and recalled the spells that they had learned to combat against the cultists. She then cried out and cast a spell that caused the skies above to burst in to a large thunderstorm, sending large streaks of lightening to fire out and around, along with loud bursts of thunder acompanying. That should be bright and loude enough.
Emeline Pryce did not even have the wit about her to move until that tongue was drawing blood across her face. It was in that moment, that stupidity struck her. In sheer panic, she shrieked and dropped her hand, both hands flying up to try and shove the wolf away. However, she had not the strength, and overpowering the wolf was absolutely impossible. As she turned to run, there was a tension in her robes, and before she could even comprehend what was happening, she was sent airborne. Like a ragdoll, she soared through the hall, crashing into a table at the far end with a sickening thud. It was there, she slid, her body limp and unmoving. It was impossible that she would've escaped a collision like that unscathed. Emmie was definitely a K.O.
Alexaviar looked on at the scene that he had come suddenly upon and he looked like he was going to vomit himself.. Or cry... "Most... of the children are in safety." He explained vaguely. "I believe..." He didnt have a time to do a head count. How were they going to explain this to the students parents.
Diedre Quinn did her best to protect the students, commanding any spell that came to mind, as aimed her wand at any trouble. She would assist in helping to take care of those that were wounded.
Perhaps due to the distant memory of one Valentine's ball,
Blaine Underwood had not fled the scene. Not entirely. No, he'd remained with the older students, utilizing his Quidditch strategy with his teammates in a coordinated effort to both drive the werewolves back and keep the students around them safe. Now, having returned to the Great Hall, he was just in time to see the end result of Emeline's heroic effort against the werewolf. "Emeline!" Blaine would shout her name and, ignoring the looks of the students around him, would run as fast as he could toward her.
Lara Rockford jumped to the side and watched, starting to feel helpless. This was not looking good for the Gryffindor. "Come on, Olivia we were supposed to get out of here remember!?" she roared, frantically. That werewolf was so huge, she doubted anything would work on it. Lara was relieved when she saw Emmie was still in one piece. People were getting hurt in here and the time for her escape had almost passed. She was ready with her wand, searching her mind for some charms. "Try to stun him!" she shouted. There was only one Stun charm she was good at and decided to try her luck. She couldn't make things any worse. "Immobulus!" she shouted, hoping a teacher would come to their rescue.
Tate and
Charlotte had exausted themselves and couldn't cast yet. So Tate went with Charlotte and other students in to safety and the boy saw the various younger years who were hurt. Oh sweet Merlin! He went to a few and began ripping his robe up to start making make-shift bandages until they could all be treated by Mediwizards.
Canute suddenly realized he was the only werewolf in the room and fear lit up int he wolfs eyes, quickly he backed up against the wall and looked to the sky on the ceiling as it darkened and filled with lightning. He grunted and turned to rush out through the back chambers to go greet Cyprian and help his comrade to safety, they'd left the impact they needed to and the disposable werewolves were almost all dead. He howled for joy into the nights air as they retreated, hopefully before any spells had been sent his way?
Sable Thanasis's magic was back. She turned her attention to the girls who were being attacked by the last wolf in the room. She aimed at him, and shouted, "DIFFINDO!" to cut up the wolf's legs as much as possible before it could get too far away, as it ran off. She looked around... Sweet Nimue, so many dead, and so many hurt. She said, "Moira," quietly and she started to leave. But paused to look for Larus. "Larus?! LARUS!" Then saw him with Kennard. "LARUS!" she shrieked again. Oh, the conflict! She knew Diego was with the baby, but what if one of those things had gotten down there! But Larus was bleeding out!
Nessa Kennard kept her hand steady on the bite in Larus' arm, though her other was shaking as she continued her efforts to stem the bloodflow. She dropped her wand, however, as he turned and began vomitting. It wasn't as though she was repulsed - as if such a thing would shake her in a moment like this. No, it's because she was helping him roll to the side as to keep from choking. "Professor, stay with us," she gasped at Larus, scrambling for her wand once more. All the while, she would not release her hold on the wound, determined to stop the bleeding even if through sheer willpower.
Lara Rockford looked around frantically. Suddenly everything in the immediate vicinity was silent and she had the chance to absorb the scene before her. She heard students crying in the distance and the Great Hall was a disaster. The world spun. She peeked under the table to stare at Olivia, body shaking. "He's gone all of a sudden." She found herself beginning to sob. "You can come out, I think." she said, hiccoughing, wheeling around to see Blaine running over. "She was trying to save a second year!" Lara explained the obvious, now beside herself after the event was all over.
Alexaviar took the opportunity to help the obviously injured children that were around. He did his best to keep his emotions out of doing what had to be done. Alex gathered some makeshift banages he obviously made and was wrapping the claw gored injuries that students had. "Hold on, you will be healed as soon as possible." He reassured though he wasnt convinced.
Larus Pontin laughed softly and shook his head "It's okay....it's okay..." he swallowed the nasty taste in his mouth and looked up at the nurse before he started to use his other hand to shakily remove his belt and handed it to her "Around my bicep" he stammered to her. --
Morvyn Huckleborn had been in the melee of it all and casting spells with the others swarming around him, he'd been caught up in it all and even though he'd checked every so often for Heather the next time he had a chance she was missing and he swam through the students in the hall "HEATHER!?"
Nessa Kennard looked around, her blue eyes steeled, and caught sight of Sable. Her expression was hardened, as though to assure the woman that she was not going to let Larus die. She would do absolutely everything within her power and then some before she would allow things to come to that conclusion. But she could spare no more distractions. Fingers squeezed Larus' arm, and she returned to work, her tongue working around a set of very specific spells - ones set to help slow the bloodflow, as that seemed to be the most severe issue at hand.
Olivia Torsson crawled out from under the table. This entire fight, she was more than useless and resigned herself to work harder in her lessons, if the school was still open after this eventful night. "Wha...what happened? The p-professors...why're they...what?" she mumbled, and swayed, clinging to Lara's sleeve and trembling. Olivia looked up at the group of adults surrounding Professor Pontin, and shivered. "Did he get bit? Lara?"
Sable Thanasis's chest was heaving as she watched them making use of spells and a tourniquett. "Dittany," she said. "Blood Replenish... A-Accio Dittany! Accio Blood Replenish!" she said, wanding shaking in her hand until the vials could come to her. She handed them to Nurse Kennard, and said, "My-my children... I'm sorry, I have to check on them. My son, my baby girl. I- I want to stay," she felt tears of the pushed back terror and the anger and the pain welling in her eyes and she said, "Larus," seeking his permission.
Emeline Pryce would've been flattered had she known Blaine had rushed to her side. However, as it was, Emmie was out for the count among the splintered wreckage of tables and place settings. It didn't take a genius to realize just how mangled her body was, broken and battered from the force of the collision. It was definitely not a pretty sight, as neither was the entire setting around her.
Larus Pontin waved his good hand "Go Sable, im going to hospital...this is bad but trivial to muggles, they'll fix this, just go" he sat up and motioned Nessa away from him "I'm going to take a floo, trust me, i'll be okay, i need to go now" and with that he tried to stand up even though the world spun from shock as if he was drunk.
Lara Rockford looked at the floor, feigning a smile. "No!" she lied, not wanted to cause a panic. But she had been aware of the battle behind them. Lucky the two hadn't collided. Lara didn't know which way to look. There was Emmie who needed to go to the Hospital wing very badly and a Professor so badly attacked everyone was surrounding them now. Lara patted Olivia. "Professor Pontin is going to be... fine!" she said, feeling sick. "We- we need to get Emmie to the hospital wing..." Before she dies of internal injuries. Lara thought grimly.
Fallyn Padarn Salvador wanted to help but he had to hold the werewolves, that was when he spotted sanctus and called the boy forwards "I can't move, put them to sleep and we'll lock them in a room." Once Sanctus had done that he quickly went about moving the four werewolves to one of the rooms in the dungeon, levitating them with help.
Nessa Kennard secured the tourniquette as instructed, somewhat adept in simple muggle techniques. As Sable shoved the potions in her hands, Nessa nodded her understanding, before putting them to use. Panic began to rise within her as Larus tried to climb to his feet. She pushed him back down, with a firm hand. He was right, he needed St. Mungo's staff, but was in no condition to simply walk on in on his own. He needed someone to fetch him or accompany him - where the hell was their head nurse?! She would accompany him herself, but there were other students to tend to. She looked to Diedre and Alex. "He's right... we need to get him to the hospital? Could one of you escort him there?" Her voice was commanding, no nonsense. It wasn't really a question. She needed someone to take him there, even if they were to return as soon as he was in the hands of their healers.
Alexaviar just kept tending to students, he onlt wished he was decent at healing magic. Every now and then he had to check whether a student was actually alive to no avail and it was usually the younger students. A question was then proposed to him and the other Professor. "I will assist." He commented doing his best to ignore the outburst.
Olivia Torsson looked up into Lara's face, registering the awkward reassuring smile. "You're lying, aren't you? The professor isn't fine, is he? Nobody is. Not tonight, anyway." She shuffled over to Emeline, and tried to hoist the reasonably larger deadweight. "Up, up, hospital wing." Olivia looked to Blaine, silently inquiring help.
Larus Pontin tugged away from Nessa clumsily "Get off me, im going to a muggle hospital, give me that blood replenish" he said and took one of the vials he recognised just from his wife keeping them on her at all times and tried to set off "I have a floo to a place near a muggle hospital im fine, bye! see to the important ones!"
Sable Thanasis helped Kennard make Larus stay still. "You can't do it on your own. Accept their help..." She kissed his cheek, then said, "Get treated... Tell them to bring healers to Hogwarts," she told the other teachers. "I have to go," then she hurried from the halls. She paused only once, to check on students who had been ushered in to safety rooms. But it wasn't long at all before she was down in the dungeons, going to her rooms and office, where she'd told Diego to take care of Moira, calling out their names frantically.
Lara Rockford nodded to Liv as she saw the Professor's determined faces. She knew they would not let Pontin die. "He's going to live." she said, voice filled with hope. She swished and flicked with all her might, "Wingardium Leviosa!" she said, but was still distracted. Emmie didn't even float one foot off the floor "Damn." she breathed, rushing over to try and help Olivia. "We're going to have to take it easy." She said, trying to shuffle away gently.
Nessa Kennard was never a confrontational person to begin with, but as Larus tried to shove her away, she scowled. "I don't give a damn if you have the network set up to send you right into the hospital, Muggle 'doctors' don't have the ability to deal with this!" She was scolding him as though a mother would to a child. "You need a team of Healer's, even if I have to take you to St. Mungo's myself, though there are those here who need my help and I'd rather not leave them. Your choice, you can allow Alexaviar to accompany you, or I can do it myself." To the movement across the room, Nessa would bark at the children attempting to carry Emmie. "DO NOT MOVE HER." They were likely to worsen the damage. Another look back to Larus.
Diedre Quinn moved closer when it seemed that she, and the other professor e would were need, glancing to Alex, when he said he would go. "I'll continue to help the students, then. Should we send the students up to their dorms if they are alright?"
Larus Pontin gave Nessa a pointed look "Go help the others, Alex can take me" he said and looked towards the man "Get me to St. Mungo's" he said and bit the top off of the vial before drinking a bit of blood replenish "come on i dont think im going to be walking much longer" his words were starting to waver and slurr.
Leslie Brambleburr finally woke up, amongst the rubble and the table's remnants, and was surrounded by terror and carnage and horrible, horrible sights. She might have fainted again if her more 'Official' mind hadn't taken over. She squeaked unintelligably at first, but then she said, "H-Healers! Healers! And Aurors! The Ministry! My-My floo... Grom's home! Then the Ministry! Now!" she managed to spout. Hopefully someone would hear her and be able to understand.
Alexaviar got up and headed over to Larus looking much less jovial then before. "Alright come on Larus." He said offering an arm to balance the Professor on. "And when you come back you can try that tea." He tried to add in an effort to chear the deathly mood up even a small ammount.
Larus Pontin leaned on Alex and chuckled, feeling he might instantly vomit again but took some deep breaths "I love tea....love tea" everything was a bit dark and chilly, shock, he convinced himself "Love tea.." he repeated and staggered after the man as quickly as possible
Patricia Seaver slammed open the doors to the Great Hall, eyes wild. Having slept through most of the start of term feast and only haven woken up when the suits of armour started clanking about, she had been trying to get to the Great Hall for the past half hour. The head nurse whipped towards Larus, yanked him away from Alex, and pulled out a thread and needle from her fanny pack. "What kind of wounds are these? What happened in here?" Pat handed Larus a painkilling potion to drink, and looked towards the young woman in a Healer outfit, silently asking.
Nessa Kennard nodded her thanks to Alex and Larus, before turning to Diedre. She herself did not think it was wise to send the students to the dorms just yet - not without sending a team to make sure the remainder of the castle was clear. But in matters such as these, it was not her right to give orders. Instead, she glanced at Salvador, unphased by his nudity in her state of mind. Brushing past him, she hurried to where Emmie hopefully would've been set down, pushing Blaine out of her way as she did so. She went about assessing the severity of the issue, and fixing what she could. The girl would require a trip to Mungo's as well, but the exhausted nurse would go about doing as much as she could. As soon as she mended the girl to the extent of her ability while amonst such wreakage, she immobilized her, only then calling for aid in moving her to the hospital wing.
Nessa Kennard was moving to the next student, brushing past Patricia in a whirlwind as she did so. She barely had time to spare a glance to the head nurse as she tended to the broken bones of a terrified fifth year. "Your thead will do little good, ma'am - he needs Healers." She looked up, her expression somewhat harsher than she intended. "It was werewolves."
Alexaviar found the Professor kidnapped by the Nurse.. "Werewolf injuries.." He interjected. "I was just taking him to St Mungos..." He explained. "He needs to be healed and checked for y'know..." He drew off, everyone knew what happens after a werewolf attack... Alex shoved his hands in his pockets looking lost as he knew not what to do... "A lot of students are injured... I managed to help a few but.." Wince.
Fallyn Padarn Salvador came back into the hall, picking up Larus's burned robes from the floor and putting them on to cover himself before he looked around at the room. His eyes watered as he saw the damage and a weak sob rose from his throat and he went to join Nessa "Tell me where i can help, Ms. Kennard, you need assistance with all the students"
